Good thing I flipped on the porch light this morning, before dawn, to make sure the cat was finished with his breakfast before getting the bowl.
This little double-striped skunk, about the size of a tenth month old kitten, was gobbling up the leftovers. He glanced up when the light went on, then put his nose in the bowl and continued munching as I peered through the vertical blinds.
I ran and got the camera. He kept eating and never reacted as the flash went off two times. When he finished, he sauntered off without a backward glance.
I left the bowl until the sun was up and the only wildlife out there was the cat snoozing on the wicker chair.
