It's tough when the computer acts up, shows the dreaded blue screen, and you have to take it to the shop. It was gone for three days and I kept waiting for the phone call that says the motherboard is basically dying. I had already gone shopping and trying out Windows 8 on display computers. Oh, my, that touch screen is fun but there's so much to learn.
When the phone call came yesterday it was good news. All the hardware was just hunky-dory-dandy but they did find two tiny little viruses. The viruses could or could not have caused the problem, they don't know. But the computer is home and working like a dream.
During the down time I thought I would enjoy a little R&R time away from writing. I was wrong. The whole time it was gone the office felt empty and my mind worked on my new WIP. I kept wanting to pull up the document and get to work. The fact that I couldn't, that I could only make pencil notes, made me realize how much daily writing at a computer had become a habit that I actually love.
Through the years I have decided that writing can be painful, frustrating, tedious, and hard but it can also be thrilling, entertaining, rewarding, and fun. I sure missed it!
