Just finished reading Helene Boudreau's Real Mermaids Don't Wear Toe Rings and closed the book smiling. I immediately had to rush here to sing its praises.

This novel had wonder, excitement, scary moments, and just enough teenage interaction  to bring back lots of memories of school friendships and first loves.  I came away feeling all warm and fuzzy and wanting more, more , more! Click on the title to go to Amazon for more information.

I so connected with her well developed characters, and the desire to see something in the plot brought to its conclusion, I am now heading over to get the recently released sequel
 Real Mermaids Don't Hold Their Breath .

  1. Wow. Is there any greater compliment than to say that a book left you smiling? I don't think so. (Though a close second is loving it so much that you want to tell everyone about it.) Thanks for the recommendation! I haven't read her first one yet, but it sounds fantastic and I do keep meaning to pick it up. I'm assuming this one is a sequel.
