Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs passed away yesterday. The apple computer was the first computer I ever used. It was given to every teacher in our school on our desks. I was nervous and just knew I would never use one. Now  it's hard for me to imagine what life would be like without one.
May God bless his family in this time of loss and God bless his soul.

  1. It was my first computer, too, in its very rough beginning. I bought it in 1983. I see Steve as a man "assigned" to do what he did. Just consider everything the computer does, the connections we make through it, the jobs it has created. Wow! And from the tributes it sounds like he was a man beloved by those who knew him as well as a man who had his quirks and was sometimes not as good as he should have been, human like all of us are. Though I didn't know him personally, I feel sad that he's no longer with us.

  2. Ann, I feel the same way. I hope the company has some wonderful young people so the company will have new surprises to carry on what he started.

  3. I'm not a Mac person. I only recently acquired an iPod. Yet I'm terribly saddened by the loss of this man in the world! He was brilliant and original, something there is too little of.

  4. Susan, I only used a Mac at work. When I retired I got a Dell and have stuck with them and Office. But they wouldn't be in business if it were not for his genius.

  5. Thanks for posting this. I was just commenting to my husband how I wish he could have lived to see the public outpouring of support and tributes for him.

I also dropped by to tell you that I just finished reading your story in the AUG/SEPT issue of Stories for Children Magazine. What a treat! I love the amount of conflict and feeling you worked into such a short piece. I bet a LOT of kids could relate to it :) Great job!
