This afternoon my computer totally crashed. It's at the shop and I'm at the public library. Aacckkk! They said it will be at least five days to diagnose and another fourteen to fix if I choose to fix it. I guess any writing I do will be with a pen. I'll check in when I can.
Oh, Catherine, so sorry to hear this--hopefully you're up and running sooner than projected!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry! That's happened to me before, so I'm definitely feeling for you. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteWhat, no typewriters stashed somewhere in the attic? ;-)
ReplyDeleteHope it comes back soon.
Panic City! Hope you get it back soon.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Good luck getting it up and running soon.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry, Cathy. I hope you were in the habit of emailing your manuscript to yourself. Easiest backup of important writing I can think of. Burning to a disk is good, but they stretch and break.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good wishes and sympathy. Shellie, they are backed up on flash drives and disks. No emails so I hope I won't be really sorry about that :)
ReplyDeleteKathryn, right before I moved I got rid of two old portable typewriters and an electric word processor because I wouldn't need them again. dumb,dumb,dumb...
It's amazing how many times I get up to go check my email or think, "I need to work on a chapter or two..." then I remember there's
nothing but paper in the office. Getting a lot of reading done.
